Introducing our Tea Plays Tea Bonbons
Tea Plays Bonbons were designed with you in mind: the curious consumer with a great palate. You are someone who knows that there is a whole world of flavors to be found in teas from ancient tea-producing cultures in an accessible format.
Tea Plays will bring you through a set of experiences with great tasting tea as their focus: teas for certain times of day, life events, and more. We focus on teas and ingredients from China, where our founder Siyi is from, but our goal is to encourage tea appreciation worldwide. Who knows where this journey will take us? We invite you to come along.
The Blends
Siyi decided to make a set of Bonbons that would use blends of tea leaves and other flavors. Each type of Bonbon contains both a type of Chinese tea and some organic plant ingredient. They were designed to match common daily needs: waking up (Good Morning), relaxing in the afternoon (Sweet Home) or digesting better (After Lunch). You can even add energy and engage your brain cells (Brainstorming).
We hope you can enjoy one of these blends at the right moment soon!
In future, we hope to provide a platform so that tea lovers can share recipes and responses on our favorite topic.
The Ingredients
Each Bonbon is made with high quality plants harvested under sustainable conditions, chiefly in the south of China, in the country's warm and humid provinces which many experts view as the main areas the tea plant, Camellia Sinesis, may have originated. We passed tough USDFA tests to prepare these flavors for you and anyone you know who enjoys tea.
The Shape
The rounded shape of each Bonbon recalls childhood sweets. They are easy to carry around, unwrap and get ready. You don't need to think in advance about complicated equipment: just pop them in hot water and wait.
If you wish however, you can use them with many kinds of standard tea gear. They should work with strainers, pots and flasks. You can also use them like many Chinese: let them 'bloom' inside your cup without any equipment and drink carefully to avoid the leaves – keep in mind that the hydrated leaves are actually tasty and healthy to eat! This way of brewing works especially well inside a glass, letting you watch the leaves change as your mind drifts.
The Size
Tea Plays Bonbons each weigh just a few grams, the perfect amount to brew 2 or 3 cups of tea, refilling with hot water each time. The flavor of the tea will develop as more water is added and the leaves expand fully.
